Anyone that has the opportunity to see her should.
I saw her and Ike back in the mid 70's and what an electric show. There was so much energy on that stage it was contagious. There must have been over 20 people on stage. Everyone in the crowd was up and dancing most of the night. Enjoy and let us know if you go. |

When they got ya, you've got no more chance than a road rabbit...You're walkin' along, not a nickel in your jeans, you're free as the wind. Nobody bothers you. Hundreds of people pass you by in every line of business. Shoes, hats, automobiles, radios, furniture, everything, and they're all nice loveable people. They let you alone...Then you get ahold of some dough and what happens? All those nice, sweet, lovable people become heelots. A lotta heels! They begin creepin' up on ya, tryin' to sell ya something. They get long claws and they get a stranglehold on ya and ya squirm and ya duck and ya holler and ya try to push 'em away, but you haven't got a chance. They've got ya. The first thing you know, you own things - a car, for instance. Now your whole life is messed up with a lot more stuff. You get license fees and number plates and gas and oil and taxes and insurance and identification cards and letters and bills and flat tires and dents and traffic tickets and motorcycle cops and courtrooms and lawyers and fines - and a million and one other things! And what happens? You're not the free and happy guy you used to be. You've gotta have money to pay for all those things. So you go after what the other fella's got. And there you are - you're a heelot yourself.-from movie"meet john doe"

I saw Cher & Tina on Oprah; they were great. I got a chuckle out of them answering Oprah's question on how they were aging. Of course Tina is a steam
engine and nothing phases her, least of all aging; but Cher's comment made me laugh because she's so honest. She blurted out "it sucks"!
And they all laughed. ~ Lynne
Just what you want to be, you will be in the end

Hey Kurt! I saw Ike and Tina back in the old daze, too, early to mid 70's. What a show! I was one of about 3 light skinned people in the audience, lol.
What those white folks were missing, oh my!

We flew from LA to Lake Tahoe for my 30th birthday, back in 19__
Ike and Tina Turner Review was at one of the big hotels. So, thats what I wanted to do on my special birthday. We get there, and Tina had come down with the flu/sore throat and cancelled the show. Since it wasnt ski season yet, the entertainment picks were limited. Either Englebert Humperdink or Captain and Tennille. So I saw them.
(anyone realize he was the captain because he backed the Beach Boys ? ) Official Tina Website. http://www.officialtina.com/ Anyone see the Oprah, that the #1 Tina fan got to meet her in France, and Tina took her shopping for shoes. The girl was about 15 and just overwhelmed by it all. Oprah arranged it all. It was fun watching the young girl.
